# Ubuntu package Build an architecture-native `.deb` from the checkout with: ```sh packaging/ubuntu/build-deb.sh ``` The script builds the Wo compositor and portal binaries, builds the Electron application and its DMA-BUF addon, builds `comraw`, and stages the Electron runtime with the package. It writes the package to `target/ubuntu-package/`. Set `WO_PACKAGE_VERSION` to override the version or `WO_DEB_BUILD_ROOT` to choose another output directory. Build dependencies are Rust/Cargo, Bun, a C/C++ toolchain, `dpkg-dev`, and the development headers for libinput, libudev, libseat, libdrm, GBM, EGL, Wayland, PipeWire, and XKBCommon. The build also needs network access for locked Bun dependencies and Electron's Linux runtime archive. Install the result with `sudo apt install ./target/ubuntu-package/wo_*.deb`. The package installs the Wo Wayland session, its xdg-desktop-portal implementation, and a launcher that selects the bundled Electron runtime.
