# ADBMe companion

|
ADBMe is a Flutter companion application. It never receives ADB keys and cannot run ADB itself. A paired laptop-side companion performs the narrowly allowed ADB operations through `bun run adbme` after a locally visible confirmation.
|
|
|
|
On production Xiaomi firmware, `WRITE_SETTINGS` can be enabled through the shell app-op. `CHANGE_CONFIGURATION` is signature or privileged and cannot be granted to a normal sideloaded Flutter application. A rooted device or an OEM-signed privileged APK is required for that permission.
|
|
|
|
The laptop service and mobile transport are intentionally not enabled by the build script. It must be paired to a named device and a fresh secret before it can request an operation.
